Description:

Another Chance at Happiness is a Grid-based Twin-Stick Shooter with Deck-Building Elements about Magic versus Robots. In this action roguelike, you invade Void Monvitrese with a Robotic Backpack that provides endless combat options. Defeat Fablers to collect important materials to increase health and time or spare your targets in order to add them to your party. Character Customization is directly linked to your Party Composition – change stats, weapons, abilities, and forms in real-time based on who you’re invading with. What will you do for another chance?

History:

With a hunger for More Mega Man Star Force content, I’ve prototyped a narrative-based game with battle cards. AC@H (formally known as “Another Afterlife”) was intended to be a direct sequel to the novel & webcomic series “The Beauty of a Time Limit” and “Hopelessness at Another Chance.” However, AC@H was also the very first time I was able to program anything with Unity.

After countless iterations and improving my game design skills thanks to a plethora of play-testers, feedback loops, and gaming industry events, the game has been optimized to support roguelike elements, clear controls, and packs a lot of lore to uncover. Development of AC@H originally started back in 2019, but was interrupted due to DodgeKing, Launching a microsatellite, and balancing several other prototypes. Development has officially reached its two-year mark and intends to use the current build for the launch version.
